Subject: Quality Decisions of Our Time...

on their way to Bramall Lane, I'm off home. Come with us, they say... I
think about it and decide that a trip to the Pigsty is just what I need.
Sadly, I arrived too late to see the first sending off but the rest of
the match was unforgettable.

The first half was a bland affair but, the game exploded after about an
hour as George Santos put in a strong challenge on Andy Johnson. Being
no Blade, I think I'm well placed to judge and it seemed to me that he
won the ball quite cleanly. Johnson went down like one of Cunningham's
whores at the UKSF Christmas bash and Santos was sent off. All the
remaining players then ran about pretending to fight a bit until Suffo
headbutted some irritating little bloke and went for a sit down too.

As United went from 10 to eight to six players it became clear that the
Blades players were trying to get sent off. Keith Curle, who had been
magnificently combative prior to the double sending off, became wilder
and wilder and yet failed to get himself sent off... presumably a new
experience for him.

Michael Brown just walked off for reasons unknown.. although I thought
he had been booked twice. Ullathorne suffered a badly strained sock
after a regulation tackle and had to go off too... forcing the ref to
abandon the game as United only had six men left.

My favourite moment in the game came immediately after the 21 man brawl
that saw Suffo sent off... the electronic scoreboard flashed up:

Millwall 0 Wednesday 2

Good times.
