I'd best cut back on the vindaloos then. Bubbleless baths might upset
a few team members but I'm afraid it's time I looked towards my own
future.

You couldn't be further from the rtuth. The current manager is lovely
and obviously has a cunning plan to...erm, ok it's not so obvious but
I'm certain it'll be cunning.

Damn. I was hoping that was at least worth a diamond...

You're right though. I was upset and must apologize to both yourself
and the rest of the squad. It's my own fault that I got up on the
wrong side of happy this morning and my running off at the mouth was
inexcusable. Thank goodness petulant outbursts like that are like
water off a broad-shouldered duck's back to you.

I do however stand by my desire for a non-playing manager. I initially
brought it up whilst you were still the top cat and unfortunately you
leapt the wrong way imho. I hope that by repeating it Vicky doesn't
follow suit and opt for glory rather than responsibility.

UKSF needs a strong hand at the helm, some one to make the tough
decisions, a general to marshal the troops, and somebody to hold our
hands when we graze our knees. As previously mentioned, this would
best be performed from the sideline in all but the most dire
circumstances by a totally committed fulltime manager. It's time we
rid ourselves of the amateurish "it's great to have a manager who's
one of the lads" mentality. We need more discipline, and lots of it.
Oh, and cake...no one seems to have time for cake these days.

If we want to take on the big boys at their own game we're going to
need more than a semiConlan.

Of course the loss of a player of Vicky's stature would require a
rethink with regard to the team's structure, but Vicky's built for
thinking and the squad under your tutelage and now Vicky's has
developed the necessary depth, a pride in their own abilities, and the
confidence to make the required changes.

I fear I'm starting to froth again, so I'll be off now to console
myself with the satisfaction of knowing that despite less than
sparkling form in the last couple of matches, I did everything that
was asked of me in this one. I'm trying not to dwell too much on the
fact that dogs can be trained to sit without too much effort.
