Worry? I go out of my mind, Mikey. Ffs, every time a Policeman walks up my
drive with his hat removed, rings on the doorbell, asks very politely to
come in having confirmed my name, suggests I take a seat, and then pauses,
as if struggling to find the right way to say something, I just think "This
is it. This is the time he tells me that something has happened to my
Mikey".
Of course, it never is, it's always just that my Mum just died or I'm being
arrested for kiddie-fiddling or something, but that's not the point. The
point is that "worry" does not come close to describing the sort of
sickening terror I feel from the pit of my stomach if you're home from work
a few minutes late. Is that so wrong? Actually, now I think about it,
that's pretty fucked up.
I'll work on it.
